The “Non Solo Pane” bakery was established in 2008 through a partnership between two brothers-in-law: Eugenio Testa—a baker by trade since childhood—and Vincenzo Carvello—originally a miller who later became a baker. They are assisted in the business by their wives, Angela and Caterina, sisters hailing from San Giovanni in Fiore. Bread production relies exclusively on sourdough starter, used across all their varieties: durum wheat bread, ciabatta, double-leavened *pitta*, whole wheat bread, multigrain bread, walnut bread, and classic bread rolls. However, the bakery’s true strength lies in its production of traditional Casabona pastries. These are made using recipes handed down through generations, prepared without alteration to honor their history. Highlights include *pitta di fera*, *crustuli*, *turdilli*, *susumelle*, various Christmas treats, and the *cullura dolce*—a specialty unique to Casabona made with oil, honey, and raisins—as well as *vuccillato* and *taralli*, where aniseed takes center stage. The selection is rounded out by fruit tarts, apple cakes, and assorted pastries; in short, it is a tradition of excellence maintained for years through dedication and hard work, ensuring products that are both authentic and genuine.
